About Your Acupuncturist

Whitney Boland, L.Ac.

Hi, my name is Whitney Boland and I’m a licensed acupuncturist practicing in Glenwood Springs, Colorado. I treat a variety of conditions, but I focus my practice on treating sports injuries, orthopedic conditions, pain, stress-related disorders and women’s health.

I am NCCAOM board certified and received my Masters degree in NYC at TriState College of Acupuncture. My training blends three different styles of acupuncture: Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), a Japanese style developed by Kiiko Matsumoto and a style called Acupuncture Physical Medicine, which draws from a meridian style acupuncture. While the names of these styles might not mean much to you, what you can expect is a hands-on, personalized approach that will target the pain, injury or issue you come in with each day. No day or treatment is the same.

Prior to becoming an acupuncturist, I was a freelance writer for nearly a decade working mostly with companies in the outdoor industry. I was also a former competitive gymnast for 14 years and have been rock climbing for 20 years.

My foray into acupuncture started on my own healing journey. I had intense, yet intermittent back pain that kept me from climbing. I tried all the tradition treatments, but starting acupuncture was the first step towards finding a path towards healing.

Because of my climbing background, I resonates highly with outdoor athletes and enthusiasts. In addition, my extensive athletic background informs my treatments of not only the physical toll of sports, injuries and pain, but the mental and emotional toll as well.
